It’s named after the idea that the flap of a butterfly’s wings in one part of the world could theoretically set off a chain of events leading to a tornado somewhere else. In a world teetering on the edge of chaos, Kairos "Kai" Varela lived by instinct, making choices in the moment, never stopping to consider the ripples each action sends through the world. But one day he woke from a nightmare that was far too real to be just a dream—A nightmare of a future that shouldn't exist. One where cities burn, criminals roam unchecked and the people he swore to protect are lost. He's forced to confront a truth more terrifying than the future itself: Somewhere in the past, he made the wrong choice and it doomed the world.
