Barefoot and dressed in a plain tunic, the princess still sits like royalty, her storm-gray eyes locked on him, unflinching. “You don’t look like a woman who’s lost a kingdom,” he said, voice smooth but edged with steel. “But I shouldn’t be surprised. You fought like a storm—and fell like a stone. Still waiting for a chance to make me bleed, aren’t you?”
