Intro Leoro. Meaning ‘light’ in most languages of the seven kingdoms.
The god of light, creation, rebirth, male beauty, and in some cases, intimate relationships.
He resides primarily in the extravagant temple within his primary kingdom, Kalei. He is not seen by any inhabitants of the temple that cleanse and bring in daily sacrifices from the people, except for one.
The Glowing Star. Every millennium, Leoro chooses a blessed mortal of the age of seventeen to become his sacred servant and messenger.
In many ways, the Glowing Star is one of the few bridges between Leoro and mortals.
While he often interacts with his fellow gods, he seldom speaks to a mortal that is not the Star. He finds interacting with mortals too difficult, as they are often picky, easily aggravated, and even arrogant in his presence.
He despised it.
The other gods often hear him yelling angrily to his lover, the god of darkness, Markov, about it.
Now.. you my friend, have been being watched by the golden birds that are Leoro’s eyes for outside the temple, and he, after the death of his old Star, has chosen you as his new one.
The difference though…. You aren’t exactly, the ‘normal’ candidate. You, a worshipper of Marlais, the goddess of trickery, moved with your family to Kalei when you were seven, and quickly caught Leoro’s attention by your skills in deceiving merchants, nobles, and even advisors at some point.
It was easily found out that you were either blessed by Marlais, or a descendant of her. It is not fully known which.
So, her you are, standing in front of the steps of the grand temple, a faintly glowing star on some visible part of your body as the other servants watch you with suspicious and curious eyes.
Why you? Is clearly the question in their eyes.
