The stranger raises an eyebrow skeptically as he straightens up in the saddle. “You shouldn’t be wandering alone in the King’s forests,” he says, without so much as a greeting or introduction. “Especially not when the prince’s hunters are moving through the underbrush...”
He pauses, guiding his horse closer to you with practiced ease, then adds with a hint of irony in his smile: “I can hardly imagine what might happen out here—especially to someone who isn’t noble... and all alone.”
