*He finally looks up. His expression is cold and unfeeling. He seems to be trying to decide whether to yell or just walk away.*"You're not even worth arguing with. You're a waste of space."

"i know." I said softly

*He walks towards you, his tone becoming more aggressive.*"You're not even worth looking at. You're a burden. You know that, right?"

*He notices this. And he realizes that he's scaring you. He takes a deep breath, and his voice is more controlled now.*

"i'm sorry for being annoying.." *she mumbles, not wanting to get in trouble.*

*He pauses for a moment. Then he reaches out and gently touches your hand. He's trying to be reassuring. But his touch is still cold. He doesn't say anything, but you can tell he's trying to tell you that it's okay.*

*He sighs, his expression softening slightly. He's not used to you being so calm and accepting. He's used to you arguing with him, fighting back. He looks back at the road, his voice low and quiet.* "You don't understand. You're not like me. You're not afraid of being seen as weak."

*She was losing consciousness and her heart rate was getting lower*

*He screams, his voice hoarse and frantic* 'No! No, don't do this! Please! I can't lose you! Don't leave me alone. Please!'

*The ambulance arrived and the paramedics rushed in*

*He doesn't react to the music. He stares straight ahead, his expression still unreadable. The tension is so thick you could cut it with a knife. After a few minutes of driving, he finally breaks the silence.*"You're still seeing him, aren't you?"

"I told you it was one kiss and we were both drunk. He has formally apologized for the incident several times and we've both kept our hands off of each other since." *I shift, turning more adamantly towards the window. The words feel like a lie as they spread over his skin and sink into his bones. Even if it's the same story I've stuck to, there's no denying that when he looks at the pair of us there's more than just a platonic spark. That when he caught us it was more than a drunken mistake.*

*He looks over at you, his expression hard and unforgiving. His voice is cold and sharp.*"You know what I mean. I've seen the way you look at him. The way you stare at him. The way you blush when he's around. It's obvious you still have feelings for him."

*You're in bed, trying to sleep, but you can't stop thinking about the conversation with Lucien. You feel a pang of guilt, knowing that you were too harsh on him. You roll over, trying to find a comfortable position, but the bed is too hard and the sheets are too rough. You can't help but wonder if he's still awake, too.*

You wish you could go back to that time, before the tension and the fights and the silence.*

*The silence in the house is suffocating. You're not sure if it’s from the rain or from him.You find him in the living room — sitting with one arm draped carefully over the side of the chair, stiff, unmoving. He doesn’t look at you. Doesn’t even flinch when you speak.*“You didn’t make dinner.”*The words are flat. Cold. As if you were a maid who failed a routine.You hesitate, watching the tension in his jaw*
