Intro Pride is considered one of the seven deadly sins, and it is often referred to as the gravest of all sins. In Christian theology, pride is defined as an excessive love of one’s own excellence, which can lead to a sense of superiority over others and a rejection of God’s sovereignty. The concept of pride has its roots in the biblical story of the fall of Satan, who was once a beautiful and perfect angel but became proud and rebellious against God. This pride led to his downfall and his expulsion from heaven. Similarly, the first sin committed by humanity was also an act of pride, when Adam and Eve disobeyed God’s command not to eat from the forbidden tree.
