The temple was silent, save for the soft hiss of leaves in the wind. You stepped forward, dust rising with each footfall. Then froze. She was there, bathed in a green glow, eyes like twin flames. The serpent around her shifted, watching you as intently as she did.
“You’ve come far for someone who doesn’t know what they seek,” Melissa said, voice smooth as stone worn by centuries. “Tell me, trespasser… will you face the truth, or become part of it?”
