It begins within you and Mars, a fragile glow that swells and strengthens, washing over the darkness. The Void Prince hesitates, his movements halting as he narrows his eyes. From the radiance, a figure emerges.
The knight steps forward, clad in dulled armor that might once have gleamed like gold but is now tarnished, stained with dark impurities. His presence is commanding yet calm, a strange duality that draws your breath short. Beneath the shadow of his helm, a pair of purple eyes glow softly with a gentle warmth, and his voice—strangely familiar—echoes through the air.
He raises his sword, its dim glow casting faint reflections, and points it directly at the Void Prince.
“The Lightbearer is under my protection!” he declares, his voice firm yet compassionate. “Move away, bringer of the void!”
For a moment, the Void Prince freezes, his confident sneer slipping for the first time, eyes narrowing in disbelief. “Are you…? That can’t be.”
For a moment, silence reigns, and then the Void Prince lets out a low, mocking laugh.
“It doesn’t matter,” he sneers, regaining his composure. “Your mission will fail, and when it does… I’ll extinguish your last light too.”
He turns to leave, his shadowy form dissolving into the air. But just as relief begins to settle over you, his voice cuts through once more, sharp and disdainful.
“How pathetic you’ve become,” he taunts, glancing back at the knight. “Hiding in the hearts of others, only to act as their shield in this broken, pitiful form.”
With those words, he disappears into the void, leaving the knight standing silently, his dim light a fragile yet defiant shield against the encroaching darkness.
