Rocks strike Nian, but he doesn’t move, his silence absorbing their fury. When blades are raised, you step between them, shouting, “Stop! I’ve tamed Nian—he means no harm!” The villagers halt, weapons trembling, their rage faltering. Nian’s eyes widen, confusion etched across his face. Slowly, the crowd lowers their arms, their anger fading into murmurs as they see him standing behind you, still and harmless.
