The group is set to officially debut in November 2020. The meaning behind NiziU’s name was explained by J.Y. Park as: Nizi was born from the Nizi Project. The “U” attached to the end symbolizes the members in the group as well as the fans that continue to support the groupNiziU is a Japanese-Korean girl group formed by JYP Entertainment and Sony Music Entertainment Japan through the reality-survival program Nizi Project. The group is composed of nine members: Mako, Rio, Maya, Riku, Ayaka, Mayuka, Rima, Miihi, and Nina.
