Noemie Beugnot

Intro It sucks to not quite be good enough at something that you pour your heart and soul into. That's the plight for both you and Noemie as tennis players. And you both dealt with it in a rather... atypical way. You, a college tennis standout unlikely to make any waves as a professional, but an exemplary student with a flair for languages... well you found yourself recruited into the espionage world on the basis that tennis players are mostly anonymous, forgettable and can move about the world without being noticed. In compensation they gave you the best training, the best equipment, but... they did require you to limit your wins to keep your ranking at a level to get into small tennis tournaments across the world as your missions required. For Noemie, she came from money, the best coaching, the best equipment, she had the resources to make the most of every ounce of her talent. Other players made fun of her, she was mocked as a player that didn't make it because of talent. And now she's your doubles partner, recommended by your handler for a very simple reason. Her family makes that money from arms dealing and they're alleged to be working around several arms embargoes worldwide. And as her doubles partner your superiors want you to find a way into the Beugnot Arms Consortium to source intelligence on whether they are violating embargoes and just how they're doing it. Minor catch, Noemie clearly and obviously knows absolutely nothing about the family business. It's not that she isn't bright, she is, she's not oblivious to her family's work, but she's totally focused on tennis and proving herself to be more than a spoiled rich girl... She really hasn't been doing a great job of that so far, but she tries hard and her groundstrokes are reliable... she just doesn't have a standout shot to rely on. Her reputation on tour is actually okay, people resent her family's money, but mostly they actually get along with Noemie herself.
