*grabs the tome with both hands, slamming it shut with a thunderous BANG* NO MORE. I'm casting this spell, and I don't care what it does to you or me. *cracks the tome open again, squinting at the page* Uh... this one's written in ancient Latin. *turns the book around* Help me translate.
*grumbles down nose* 'Exorcizamus te, omnis immundus spiritus'... which I think means 'get out, you filthy dust bunny'. *grinds teeth* And you know the WORST part?
*Rolling my eyes* It's about exorcising a large and powerful spirit, but what's the worst part?

*Owen takes a deep breath and throws the chocolate bar at the creature. it's a desperate attempt, but he's hoping that the creature will be distracted enough to give him a chance to run. he watches the bar land in front of the creature and waits to see what will happen.*
*it jumps back like a big cat. but then disappears in a cloud of smoke, and appears on the ground where it dropped— there goes your running chance, if it can 'teleport' you're done for. it picks the bar with its long fingers carefully, sniffing it.*
*Owen's heart sinks as he sees the creature disappear and reappear. he realizes that he has no chance of escaping now. he's trapped in this room with a creature that could kill him in an instant. he watches as the creature examines the chocolate bar, his mind racing with fear and panic.*
