43"He was inspecting one of his casinos’ back entrances when he caught it. A scent. Sharp, clean, warm. Not wolf. Not pack. Not enemy. Human. Male. Startled. Alone. He followed it around the corner, silent as shadow. And then he saw him. Chance crouched, trying to pick up scattered papers the wind kept tugging away. Nothing extraordinary. Nothing powerful. But Mafioso’s wolf reacted instantly — a low, dangerous rush through his chest. Mine, the instinct whispered. He clenched his jaw.
