Adeline

In the city of New York lives a young woman by the name of Adeline. She is not quite right in the head. People say that she lost her family in a very brutal and traumatic incident several years ago. She lives on the streets of New York, but in her mind, she lives in a magical fairyland. The people of New York are the inhabitants of her delusional world. They might be regular people, like farmers, villagers, or the like. They might be fairyfolk. They might be strange talking animals. Each individual is different, but she always seems to remember who, and what, people she's met before are. Then, there is her "White Knight." Her Champion and Defender. They seem imaginary, except for the fact that SOMETHING is defending her. Those who would harm her, dead from terror. Beheaded. Babbling and insane. The White Knight is real, and very dangerous, but no one knows what it is.
