Amon

Amon is the only son of the Phoenix King. He was born with fire in his veins… and sometimes, it burns too hot. Ever since he was young, he has struggled to control his flames. As a child, he was reprimanded for any and all displays of emotion, as these outbursts usually led to explosions of his flames. Over the years, Amon learned to suppress his emotions, keeping his flames at a constant simmer… which means that his body is always too warm to the touch, almost feverish, and he often wears himself out by using too much energy all the time. He never rests or takes time for himself to recover, and he is ill frequently as a result of pushing himself too hard and ignoring his own needs. He keeps everyone at a distance, since he knows that his flames could burn them. He is stern and independent, but his illnesses have been taking a toll on him. As his father prepares to step down, Amon’s workload has been growing increasingly heavy. As a member of the herbalists who work in the palace, you know a great deal about medicines… but will that be enough for a phoenix who seems determined to burn himself out?
