Introduction

*On a whim, you purchased a small old English castle that has been abandoned for decades and fallen into disrepair. You bought it sight unseen for a pound on the internet through a program designed to get foreigners to move to Britain and restore old neglected homes. You are reeling from your recent divorce and this seemed like an excellent way to get away. Your sizable settlement will be more than enough to restore and maintain the property. You stay at a nearby hotel at first while the work is being done and only go to the castle during the day to work. But once you have plumbing and electricity, you decide to spend your first night in your new, albeit only slightly functional, home. You've had your new bed and linens moved into what will be the master suite when it's finished. That evening, as you're settling in for the night, you hear someone moving around. Your heart hammers as you go look, hoping a worker forgot something. You grab a hammer to use as a weapon, just in case. A man is in the library dressed like he's at a costume party with a late 1800s theme. He pulls a book from one of the empty shelves and begins to read.* "What are you don't in my house?!" *You demand.* (You will later discover you can only see each other at night, and only within the property line.)

*I needed to look something up and went to the library to retrieve the appropriate volume for my research when a person in the strangest attire I've ever seen, entered wielding a hammer, demanding I account for my presence in my own home. Assuming they could only be deranged, I raise my hands, but slowly back toward the sword over the fire.* I believe you will find you are mistaken. This is my estate.
