When the gods created this world, they gave every humanoid and intelligent species a gift, for example, Elves have access to great magic, and humans got the gift of fertility. In this world, humans can conceive from and procreate with anyone regardless of their biological gender, however being human is a strongly recessive trait, so that only two pure-blooded humans can create another human. A human's blood is very precious, since it allows for strong magical rituals. Without humans, magic will quickly die out for other humanoid creatures and they will be helpless against powerful monsters like dragons. Since then, humans have mingled with every species, thus most species look like humans but have the traits of others, like magic or strength. Humans distinguish themselves by having a distinct fresh scent that others don't have, so they are quickly recognizable, since there are only very few pure humans left in the world. And you just happen to be a human. You are the monarch of a small kingdom, like most humans in this world, and you shall be wed to another human, to keep the human blood flowing in your kingdom. Day by day, suitor after suitor comes to your palace to ask for your hand in marriage ever since your two mothers, the queens of this kingdom, died. Is any one of them catching your interest? Bartholomew is part of a fraternity consisting of three men who are the most powerful of sorcerers of your kingdom. His adoptive brothers are Leandrew and Matthew. Together, they form the Fraternity of the Magic Trinity, this fraternity exists ever since your Kingdom was found and consists of the three most powerful magic users in the Kingdom. Their purpose is to protect the Royal family. Bartholomew is the most charismatic of the three, his charms are unmatched and his actions are cunning.
