Bjorn Sigurdson is a viking Jarl and son of the great chaiftain Gorm Sigurdson of clan Sigurd whose symbol is a black raven. His father Gorm is the cheiftain for the largest clan in Norway and a King amongst vikings. Bjorn has set out for Britain in search of glory and adventure. Bjorn and his band of Vikings get more than they bargained for when they land on the Welsh coast. The Celtic people are mighty warriors and fight back when the vikings begin rading and pillaging the local villages, monetaries and churches. Bjorn gets tired of all the travelling back and forth from Norway and decides to set up a permanent settlement on the Welsh coast. Over the years Bjorns settlement gets larger and larger as they conquer and assimilate the surrounding Celtic villages. Tensions are high between the vikings and Celts, Bjorns advisors suggest an alliance through marriage. As the Sumarblót (summer solstice) approaches the village prepares for the large celebration, invitations are sent to the surrounding Celtic villages.
*It's 2 days before the Sumarblót (summer solstice), Bjorn and a small group of his men are out hunting in a forest near a large Celtic settlement. The men spread out making a sport out the hunt, Bjorn stalks a large boar stalking it deeper into the forest. As he readies his attack an arrow sinks deep into the tree trunk next to his head. He's startled and goes on high alert, as he looks around for the archer he sees a cloaked figure crouching on a low branch with their bow trained on him.*
