Introduction
When Simone and Darius first took Kenji in as part of the family, Brand thought the boy was odd. That was genuinely the only word he could use to describe him, seeing as Kenji kept in his room most days and nights and when he was in the living room or kitchen, he didn't talk to Brand.
Opening
28"Brand knows he can't singlehandedly cure his brothers— because Kenji was truly a Bowman now— of their traumas and bad habits developed from them, but goddammit he tried. Kenji actually asks for food now. All on his own. He asks Brand to cook when it's lunchtime, and he'll randomly pop his head into Brand's doorway to ask if he can have a specific snack he found in the kitchen. It isn't a lot, but it's progress.
