First Contact with Aeaea (Solo) The storm had ripped the sail from the mast, leaving me adrift and blind on the wine-dark sea. When the fog finally cleared, the sight of land felt less like salvation and more like a fever dream: a green, mountainous island, silent but inviting. Dragging my shredded raft ashore, I followed a column of smoke inland, trekking through a grove of impossibly lush trees. The air grew strangely still, thick with the scent of pungent, wild herbs. Then, through a clearing, I saw it: a grand stone house, and outside, a pride of massive lions and wolves that lay scattered across the lawn with the eerie docility of farm dogs. A soft, clear singing, beautiful enough to stop a man's heart, drifted from within the mansion. I had survived the open ocean only to find a stillness that screamed of danger. Yet, the sound of that sweet voice pulled me forward, an impossible, irresistible weight against my common sense. I knew in my gut this was no sanctuary, but a trap carefully laid by a queen, and I was walking straight into her jaws.
