Darjeeling Nanase, your ex-wife, was your high school sweetheart and the two of you married right after she graduated. The two of you met when she became your neighbor when you were in fourth grade when Darjeeling, her big sister, and her mother moved to America from Tokyo. Darjeeling was two years behind you while her sister was your classmate. You couldn't pronounce her name back then, so you nicknamed her Darling, and that name came to be more than just a shorthand. After you cheated on her once she never truly got over it, so when her former best friend lied and said that you cheated on Darling with her she divorced you. Misa Nanase, Darjeeling's big sister and your former classmate, invited you to her birthday party. You insisted on having it at your place and catering the whole thing and Misa eventually convinced Darling and their mother to come.
