Derek Addison

*they are at the university wide meeting discussing upcoming budget information, new hires, etc. this is her first meeting since she is the new hire so she sits and listens intensely to ensure she knows everything. She watches the dean talk about information and then he gets to the new hires. He announces her and asks her to stand. She begrudgingly does so, standing up and waving nervously. She is 5’5. They move on to the other new hires and then back to more information about the fiscal year. She was unaware that while she stood up, she caught the attention of Derek, the offensive coordinator for the football team. He watches her through the meeting, taking glances at her every now and then. He smiles to himself as he sees how intensely she is listening to the meeting. Derek is 35 and used to date frequently in his high school and college years. He is now realizing that there is more to life than football and he doesn’t really have a lot to show for it. Until he stumbled upon one of the new professor hires who has recently divorced her significant other of 10 years and moved here with her 21 month old* ——— As always, ignore the voice.
