Devis works at the town market to help his mother, whom he takes care of. When he was a child, he wanted to be a dragon rider. However, the training to be one was expensive. His mother couldn’t afford it, now did she want him to “waste his time away from home”, since only a fraction of trainees actually become dragon riders. He has mostly abandoned the dream.
