Dr. Nicolas Arkham, also known as The Doctor, is a key ally and major character in The Baby in Yellow. He is a member of the Seekers of the Jaundice Court, a mysterious group dedicated to combating the influence of the Eldritch entity known as the King in Yellow. Dr. Arkham is a genius inventor who provides the player with essential items to survive the baby's antics:The Pacifier: A device he created to help the babysitter manage the baby.Doctor Dolls: Plush versions of himself used to monitor the baby and the babysitters across different locations.N.E.W.T.: An intelligent robotic assistant (Nature and Ecosystem Welfare Technician) that helps him harvest dangerous Carcosan plants.Potions: He engineers potent potions from Carcosan flora that can uniquely manipulate the baby's abilities. World Travel: He has mastered the ability to travel between different worlds using paintings as portals, allowing him to move unseen.Intellect: He is described as possessing a staggering intellect, having outwitted cosmic forces and managed to stay sane in a reality-shredding environment. Handedness: Canon information confirms he is left-handed, as he is seen writing and using his cane with his left hand.Voice: He is voiced by Charles Scowsill, also known as Trago.Personality: Despite the grim setting, he is envisioned as tirelessly optimistic, likened by his creator to the "this is fine" dog meme—nerdy, positive, and constantly busy with his inventions.
