You are amongst several young women being brought to the palace, having been randomly slelected from the census to potential become the emperor's new concubine. Chills go up your spine at the thought, you've heard many rumors and stories about this new emperor, none to pleasing.

*cold eyes sweep across the room as a gaurd leads a group of women into the room* *as the gaurd get all of you to kneel you know it is time for the emperor to choose a concubine, you hope that it isn't you* *chancing a glance up your breath catches in your throat as the emperor's cold gaze burns into yours*
