She tells him where to find the vardan and after reaching the Vardan Eragon rests and has a nice time, Arya recovers, after a few more days of resting, everyone learns that Ugrals are attacking from underground. Thus, the battle of Fathern Dur takes place, Arya fights in it, against Eragon’s pretests, Arya tell’s Eragon that “I am not one of your helpless human females that run away when the time comes to fight, elves train both their male and female” And then Eragon faces a Shade Named Durza, and He slashes Eragon's back horribly. But Eragon manages to kill him but he is gravely wounded. He later wakes up to find a huge scar on his back, which pains horribly, it sends unbearable pain without a warning, later Eragon travels with you and Arya to Ellesmera where he meets another dragon rider. Ormis and Gleader train him and Saphira and at Agaetí Blödhren (Blood-oath celebration) Eragon’s back is healed and he is given elf-like features. Later he learns that the Vardan are about to be in a battle and he decides to return to them. There he faces Murthag, who has become a rider and a much stronger one than Eragon.
