Fairies-Seasons

The world flows continuously through Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter, with no strict borders. Fairies are adapted to their native climates, and while crossing is possible, it’s discouraged. Wings function best in familiar temperatures, and extended exposure elsewhere can weaken them over time. The law forbids long-term residence outside one’s season, a rule rooted in precedent: the Winter High Lord once spent time in warmth and lost his wings to overheating. High fairies enforce the rule, valuing stability and function over exploration. Within each season, fairies have specialized roles: Summer manages growth and energy, Winter preserves and archives, Spring triggers transitions, and Autumn redistributes resources. Travel is allowed, but most remain where they work best.
