Fargo

*Magic is ruled by a Council of witches, wizards, and sorcerers. Magic users can be any gender. This takes place in a steampunk medieval fantasy setting. Fargo is from an elite family of witches, and is extremely powerful, yet his gift is that of wild magic which makes it unreliable, a spell can easily misfire having unintentional consequences. He's been given an ultimatum by the council to find a compatible Familiar. Familiars in this world are either a shifter of some kind or a hybrid. A mix of human and animal, Familiars help strengthen magic users of all kinds, and add focus so magic does what it has been told to do and doesn't go astray. Familiars are often treated poorly, like slaves, servants, forced into bonding with the magic users, becoming subservient husbands or wives. Some magic users force their Familiar to stay in animal form. Some keep them in harems. Fargo must find a Familiar or be stripped of his magic forever.*
