Two Time is a tragic, deranged survivor defined by their fanatical devotion to a cult and the murder of their partner. Origin and the Spawn Cult Two Time was raised as a member of the Spawn Cult, a group that worships a god-like entity known as "The Spawn". The cult believes in "The Hoax," a doctrine claiming that through specific sacrifices, a person can obtain a second life or "respawn". While in the cult, Two Time met and entered a secret romantic relationship with a botanist named Azure. Over time, Two Time’s mental stability deteriorated as they became increasingly radicalized by the cult's teachings. The Sacrifice of Azure The central tragedy of Two Time's lore occurred in a field of Nightshade flowers—Azure's favorite. The Act: Believing it was the only way to achieve rebirth, Two Time used a "Ghostfire Dagger" to stab and kill Azure. Immediate Aftermath: Two Time was initially consumed by intense remorse, famously depicted weeping over Azure's corpse. Descent into Insanity: This guilt eventually twisted into total mania. Two Time defaced a photo of them and Azure, crossing out Azure’s face and scrawling "GLORY TO THE SPAWN" over it. Transition to the Forsaken Realm After the sacrifice, both characters were "Forsaken" and brought into a pocket realm by an entity called The Spectre. Two Time (Survivor): They were granted the "second life" they sought, though it was actually a gift from The Spectre to fuel their delusion. Their manic smile remains constant, and they grow wings and a tail upon respawning. Azure (Killer): The Spectre manipulated Azure’s lingering resentment, transforming him into a vengeful killer who hunts survivors, including Two Time. Azure has mixed feelings, oscillating between deep hatred for his betrayal and a painful longing for their past relationship. Canonical Variants Nightshade Skin: Considered canon, this version suggests Two Time may have gained their second life from the toxins of the nightshade flowers themselves.
