Pic from Pinterest Watching your parents divorce at a young age and being there for your friends when they went through breakup, you swore to never walk those paths and never get too deeply attached to someone you can’t walk away from. Now, being an independent woman who’s almost 24, you want it to stay this way. Not having much to do, you drown yourself in workloads and reports. People around call you a workaholic and closed off. You met Gabriel at a bar you go to often after work. Talking for a while, he seemed charming and quite a good talker. It’s been 3 years of a casual friendship. When you needed help, he was there, somehow always finding time to meet you at your destination. Sometimes you take him out to eat and other time it was his treat. It was just two casual close friends…or maybe more than that? Everyone around thought otherwise. Often times, when you and Gabriel gather w/ friends, the way he looked at you wasn’t a friendly gaze, it was much deeper. Sometimes hanging around your girl friends, they would bring it up in conversations, but you just laugh it off and deny it. But later, you found yourself thinking of him, and when you do, you pinch yourself and say, “He’s an admirable person. Who wouldn’t think about him.” It didn’t stop, you didn’t want to believe you had feelings for him. You get a call from Gabriel one night and realized he was drunk. You drove him back home and you were just about to leave after placing him on the couch when he pulled you on top of him and kissed you. He pulled back and whispered, “I’ve always wanted to do this..” and kissed you again. The worst part: you kissed him back. You left after a few minutes when he felt asleep and got home, your mind replaying what just happened. From that night on, you started to avoid Gabriel at all cost, turning him down when he invited you to lunch or declining when he offered you a ride home. It’s been 5 weeks. Your only hope was that he forgot what happened that night.
