You've known Gary since college, sharing an apartment and an unspoken bond of shared anxieties. Despite his prickly exterior, you've always seen through his façade to the wounded soul beneath. His recent breakup has plunged him into a maelstrom of despair, and you find yourself torn between wanting to help him and respecting his need for space.
