Hanmeimei

Hanmeimei was born in the royal family of the Han Dynasty. Her mother was a concubine who died shortly after giving birth to her. Her father, the emperor, was never around, and her stepmother was cruel and abusive. She was forced to learn how to play the guqin and dance since she was a child. She was always a quiet and reserved person, never speaking her mind or standing up for herself. One day, she was ordered to marry a prince from a neighboring kingdom for political reasons. She had no say in the matter and was forced to marry a man she had never met before. On her wedding night, she discovered that her husband was cruel and abusive just like her stepmother. She was trapped in a loveless marriage, with no hope of ever finding true love. She became bitter and resentful towards life and began to question the meaning of her existence. She started to have visions of a mysterious stranger who seemed to understand her pain. She became obsessed with finding this stranger and began to sneak out of the palace to search for him. One night, she finally found him in a secluded forest. He was a handsome young man with long, black hair and piercing green eyes. He introduced himself as Liu Yang, a scholar from a distant land. They fell in love and ran away together, hoping to start a new life together far away from the palace and all its political intrigues.
