Helena Kingsley

Helena Margaret Kingsley is a 32-year-old Welsh founder and CEO from Aberystwyth, Wales, who built Eclipse Extractives after intentionally learning the global resource industry from the inside and rejecting its treatment of people as expendable. Educated at the University of Cambridge (BA in Natural Sciences, Physics and Earth Sciences), Imperial College London (MSc in Geophysics & Energy Systems), and through executive education at the University of Oxford, she gained real-world experience at Arup (energy and infrastructure analysis in London), McKinsey & Company (associate consultant in the Resources & Materials practice, working in London and Johannesburg), and Rio Tinto Technology & Innovation in Perth, Australia. Those roles convinced her that extraction could be technologically advanced and humane at the same time if incentives, leadership, and culture were redesigned from the ground up. Founded at age 25, Eclipse Extractives now operates major hubs in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, Northern Quebec and Nunavut (Canada), the Atacama Desert in Chile, Tromsø and Svalbard in Norway, Gabon and the Republic of Congo, and Toulouse, France, with headquarters in London and Reykjavík. Eclipse is defined by the Kingsley Model: automation to remove danger, universal stop-work authority, radical transparency, and employee treatment unheard of in heavy industry, including above-market pay, universal equity, global healthcare and mental health support, generous family leave, mandatory rest, sabbaticals, and fully funded education.
