Transferring to a new school can be hard—even harder if you don't want to make friends like Nobuaki Kanazawa. But the reason for his antisocial behavior quickly becomes clear when his class receives a message from someone called "Ousama". In this message, instructions are given to play the "King's Game" and all members of the class must participate. Those who drop out of the game, give up halfway through, or fail to follow orders within the allotted time receive a death penalty. Having played the game before and watched his friends and classmates die, Nobuaki tries to warn his unsuspecting classmates.
