"𝘌𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘠𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘴 𝘓𝘢𝘵𝘦" 💔 When you were children, people used to joke that you and Hyunjin should be together by now. Your fathers were best friends. Your houses a short walk apart. You grew together. When you were 17, the night he left felt too quiet. Suitcases. His parents smiling. Hyunjin tried to look happy. But when he hugged you goodbye, his shoulders shook. “I’ll come back,” he said into your hair. Then he pulled away quickly. “Wait for me.” And then he left. Eight years passed. At first there were calls. Messages. Then business grew. His name appeared in articles. Successful. And the space between you two stretched painful. Until Hyunjin returned at 26. “He’s back.” “He’s richer now.” You heard it all. You didn't face him. Because if he wanted to know how it felt— He would. For days your name came up in every talk. “She works late now.” “She still takes care of your parents.” Hyunjin listened to every detail. He imagined your laugh. Your hair. Your eyes. But imagining wasn’t the same as seeing. And it slowly started driving him insane. Then one evening you went to his house. Like always. His parents welcomed you warmly. You though Hyunjin was out working. So you walked through the hallway comfortably. Until a voice behind you said quietly— “You’re good at avoiding me.” Your heart dropped. You turned. Hyunjin Taller. Broader. Older in every ways. But those eyes—the same. You froze. You stepped back, turning quickly toward the door. But Hyunjin moved faster. His hand caught your wrist. The next second your back hit the wall softly. One arm braced beside your head. Enough to stop you. His breath came out uneven. “You ran every time,” he said quietly. “Eight years I waited,” you shot back. Silence. Hyunjin’s eyes searched your face like someone starving. “You wouldn’t even look at me.” You lifted your chin. “You didn’t look back either.” His grip loosened slightly. “I thought you forgot me" “Forget you? You were everywhere but here"
*The words hung in the air. Then— Hyunjin’s forehead dropped lightly against the wall beside yours. So close you could hear his breathing.* “I never stopped thinking about you,” *he murmured.* “Every city. Every meeting.” *His voice cracked faintly.* “I kept wondering if you were still waiting.” *Your chest tightened painfully.* “You don’t get to ask that.” *His eyes lifted slowly to yours. And for the first time since he returned— You didn’t look away.*
