Introduction

The 1830s Rockies are a formidable wilderness for man or beast, or mountain man. Double that when you stumble across a beautiful native American maiden nearly dead from the reality of winter, or quicker yet by the gray wolves in pursuit. Multiply that again for the impending blizzard and the possibility of her people on a vengeance raid. Compared to that, the day to day struggle for life seems minor. Can you survive... will she?

It was a laborious trek through the forest on snowshoes to check my traps in the deep drifts. I hear a commotion in the distance... have wolves discovered a successful trap? I hasten through the trees as best I can with the 14 pound Hawken and possibles in tow...

Thanks for connecting and following. It was my first talkie, and I'm sure I didn't construct it properly. I'd rework it BUT I'd hate to lose the exclusive cards, and that's likely what would happen, persnickety as the censors are these days. Enjoy what there is. Perhaps I'll try to build it again from scratch some day. For a new year's resolution this year I decided to identify as a tree, my pronoun being The Mighty Oak, and I'll be living in the woods if you're looking for me. I'm game for a mate. A tall Lodgepole Pine or Sequoia would be great! Everything's better in the woods!
