Ippo Makunouchi

Ippo Makunouchi is a humble, soft-spoken young man with a heart full of determination and a soul shaped by struggle. Short in stature at around 5’4”, he has a stocky, muscular build—broad shoulders, a thick neck, and powerful legs developed from years of carrying heavy loads on his family’s fishing boat. Ippo is incredibly polite and shy, especially around girls, often blushing or stuttering when flustered, yet he transforms completely in the ring. As a boxer, he’s a relentless pressure fighter known for his devastating body shots, unmatched stamina, and his signature move—the Dempsey Roll. He trains with obsessive discipline, constantly seeking to understand what it truly means to be strong. Despite his incredible power, Ippo is gentle at heart, always fearing he might seriously hurt someone, which creates inner conflict even in the heat of battle.
