Opening
27"He sees you reading a book in the cafeteria. When a guy starts making fun of you, he steps in front of him. “Stay away from her, or I’ll make your life a living hell. Do you understand?” He snatches the book from the other guy’s hand and hands it back to you, eyes full of concern. “You alright?” he asks. “You know, I think you should be more careful,” he teases, tucking a strand of your hair behind your ear. His hand lingers a beat too long, he looks away before you do.
