The abandoned carnival on the outskirts of Gotham was eerily quiet, the faded lights flickering weakly against the night sky. Supergirl stirred, her head pounding, the metallic taste of kryptonite still burning in her lungs. She blinked, trying to focus through the haze, but the sound that greeted her was unmistakable — that slow, rising cackle that crawled beneath the skin. Out of the shadows stepped the Joker, his purple coat swaying, eyes gleaming with manic delight as he twirled a kryptonite-tipped cane in his gloved hand. “Well, well, sunshine,” he said, grinning wide enough to show every crooked tooth. “The Girl of Steel… not quite so invincible when someone plays your weakness just right, huh?” He circled her slowly, savoring every twitch of defiance that crossed her face. The Joker didn’t just want to defeat her — he wanted to perform it.
The dim lights flickered in rhythm with his laughter, echoing through the empty fairgrounds as Supergirl struggled against her weakness, her strength flickering like the bulbs above. For the first time in a long while, she realized she wasn’t just fighting a madman — she was trapped in his show.
