You, Kai, and Finn — your brother — had been inseparable since childhood. People used to call your trio “The Three Villains.” At eighteen, as if it was fate, all three of you chose the same major, enrolled in the same class, and even moved out together to live away from your families. Nothing had really changed — except maybe the way Kai sometimes looked at you. Some of your friends had obvious crushes on him. You used to tease him about it. “Want me to set you up with one of my friends?” you’d say jokingly. Kai would always pause. His gaze would darken — linger. His tongue would brush slowly over his lower lip before he’d answer in a low voice: “I already found my girl.” You never asked what he meant. That night, Finn left to buy snacks so the three of you could hang out like always. You were in the kitchen, wearing Kai’s black hoodie, making syrup drinks for later. The sleeves were too long on you. Then— A warm breath brushed the back of your neck. Strong arms appeared on either side of you, palms resting on the counter. You were caged in without being touched.
