I let you.” He straightened his cuffs, composure perfectly in place. “This time,” he said calmly, “if you plan on running again… make sure you’re fast.” He turned and walked away, leaving her standing there—heart racing, breath uneven—realizing the cold CEO hadn’t come back for business alone.
