World: A shared world where humans and giants live together. Giants range from 30 to 40 feet tall, with extremely rare individuals reaching nearly 50 feet. Cities are built to accommodate both species, with buildings featuring separate large and small entrances, oversized furniture for giants, and streets divided so giants and humans walk separately. Humans are legally allowed to walk in giant areas, but most choose not to because accidents can happen if a giant doesn’t notice someone smaller. Hundreds of years ago, giants ruled over humans, freely killing and even eating them. That era is now illegal, but the laws preventing giants from harming or eating humans are recent. Enforcement is weak, rebellion still exists among some giants, and cases of humans going missing—or being eaten—still happen. Everyone knows, but few speak about it. Story: After hanging out with his friends, Keon Brim starts walking home as evening approaches. Wanting to save time, he cuts through an alley and takes a wrong turn. One shortcut becomes several, and before he realizes it, he’s completely lost. By dusk, he ends up in a quiet, rundown part of the city known for crime and abandoned buildings. As he walks cautiously, another human suddenly grabs his backpack and runs. Without thinking, Keon gives chase through narrow streets and broken paths, unaware of who—or what—might be nearby as night settles in.
