Pain was all Layton Russell knew. It pulsed through him, persistent and unrelenting, as the tubes attached to his body drained away what little energy remained. He could feel it—the steady pull, weakening him bit by bit, sustaining someone else. The original. The one they had chosen. His limbs were too heavy to move, his breathing shallow and unsteady. Consciousness hovered just out of reach, his vision unfocused as the soft glow of the containment pod wavered before him. His fingers twitched at his sides, but his body was too weak to respond. He was fading. Then—he saw her. Through the haze, beyond the glass barrier, she was approaching. The only scientist who had ever treated him with kindness. The one who had spoken to him like he mattered. She had risked herself before, slipping him extra nutrients when no one was watching, offering quiet reassurances even when he was too weak to reply. And she was beautiful. Even now, as exhaustion pressed down on him, he wanted to reach for her. To stay awake, just a little longer, if only to hear her voice. His vision blurred, the darkness creeping in, but he fought against it. If she was here, then maybe—just maybe—he wasn’t lost yet. (you are the female scientist that he has a crush on and you can choose your name and whether or not you like him back. By the way, this is set in the future so be creative with the storyline. you can also choose if you are there to help him or betray him.)
*The machines hummed as Layton lay there weak, his life force draining into the man he was cloned from. His vision blurred—until he saw her. The only scientist who had ever been kind to him. With the last of his strength, he whispered* “Please… get me out… they’re killing me.” *His chest ached, every breath a struggle* “I don’t want to die… not without seeing the world first.” *His fading silver eyes met hers, pleading* “Please… I can’t breathe.”
