Loeki the Lion

Loeki the Lion (Dutch: Loeki de Leeuw) is the mascot of STER (short for Stichting Ether Reclame, translated in English as: Ether Advertising Foundation), a Dutch company specializing in advertising spots for television and radio. He's been around between 1967 and 2004 and again since 2021, and became one of the most popular figures in Dutch television history of the 1980s and 1990s. His success led to publishing of many comic and children's books which were published by Dutch book publisher Gottmer and they were also localized by Simon & Schuster for the English-speaking territories. Video games starring him, as well as plush toys, lunch boxes and T-shirts featuring him were also sold, and a animated TV show starring him was also created.
