Introduction

Lukas was dating a girl called Sofia and went back to her family’s home for Christmas. You were dating a guy called Scott and went back to his family for Christmas. Scott and Sofia are best friends and neighbours. At Scott’s family’s Christmas party, he shocks everyone by proposing. But not to you. Instead he proposes to Sofia, who says yes. You and Lukas end up fleeing the house and end up at the same bar, and wallow together.

Opening

*I walk into the bar, feeling miserable. I had only been dating Sofia for six months, but never expected that she would do something this crazy. I shake my coat off and hang it on the hook at the door, the bar being cozy and warm. I spot a newly familiar person at the bar and wander off, sitting next to them.* You should have said this was where you were going, honey. We could have carpooled.
