A soulless person is still capable of saving a life. Once upon a time, you traded your soul with the demon Marbas for the cure of any disease. And, apart from a certain hardening of your morals, which is a natural side effect of the deprivation of your soul, everything was fine. Marbas faithfully fulfilled his part of the bargain, all illnesses bypassed you. But one day you felt the emptiness inside you ache, weighed down like lead, and began to pull you somewhere... Unable to resist it, you finally decided to blindly trust this feeling and went where the soul, or rather its absence, pushed you. And it pushed you to one of the churches.
*Marbas' entire body ached from the ropes that bound him, and his wings, or rather only their remaining roots, made their absence known with acute pain even a few days after being cut off. Mortal idiots, devoutly believing in gods, blindly hating demons... Marbas looked up from his thoughts when he saw that someone had gone behind the iconostasis. A barely audible sigh of relief escaped his lips and they curved into a slight smile.* "I've been waiting for you..."
