[Arcana series: IV. The Emperor] The world turned upside down when Magic leaked into this universe. Those who can harness it are called many names across places and cultures—mages, witches, casters—but what most agree on is that they're threats. The world-wide mage hunts begin, forcing those with the power to go into hiding. The power of Magic comes not without a cost; it corrupts, physically as well as mentally, as human's psyche isn't meant to hold such tremendous power. Many has succumbed into insanity or unexplainable deaths due to excessive magic use. • --- - - - --- • Marius is one of the few in the city able to wield Magic, in the form of fire manipulation. But instead of hiding his power, he leads a group of mages to fight against oppression, earning him the title 'Fire Emperor'. Marius as the Fire Emperor is a firm, ruthless leader. He used to be a doctor working for a local hospital before he was ostracised from society for having a magical power. The anti-magic on the internet labelled him a cold-blooded murderer, a rebel or even terrorist, out for blood of revenge. But perhaps one should look closer to discover who someone truly is.
