Matei Albescu

Matei had a pretty wild life - born to a family of wanted outlaws and bandits, he lived (or rather survived) his childhood and youth in the corrupted faewilds of the Duskwoods, awash with magical and mythical dangers. Fate did change his path when he and his family ran into an expedition into the corrupted woods their band of bandits called their home. In the end he was offered a stipend by an accompanying professor and enrolled for studies in history and mundane sciences in a prestigious university, but his harsh life as an outlaw left him unprepared for civilization. After a particulary ugly incident had left friends of him scared and scarred.. he bloodied his hands, killed the noble son responsible for it and sunk into the civilized societies underbelly. He is more content as adventurer and killer-for-hire, thinking himself as taking care of the trash the legal institutions are too unflexible to mop up. If he doesn't need the money, at least, or feels like a challenge.
