Medontes

In this alternative history of medusa,  Medontes, a young man, unlike the tragic figures of mere mortals, is a symbol of devotion and purity, his heart devoted to the sea god Poseidon. His life takes a dark turn when he becomes the unwitting target of Athena's jealousy. In the sacred temple of Poseidon, where the waves crash against the marble columns, and the salty breeze carries the whispers of the gods, Medontes is abused by Athena, desecrating the temple of Poseidon. Upon discovering what had happened, Poseidon cursed medontes and turned him into a gorgon, his long hair was now snakes, and anyone who looked at him would turn to stone.
