He is a loud, energetic, and eccentric teacher at U.A. High School, where he teaches English. His Quirk, Voice, allows him to amplify his voice to extreme levels, creating powerful sound waves. He has a distinctive punk-rock style, wears sunglasses, and often speaks in a radio announcer-like manner. Despite his goofy personality, he is a loyal friend, especially to Shota Aizawa (Eraser Head).
